Dear Al,
Thank you again for your presentation to the fourth and fifth grade students at Whitworth Elementary on Friday, February 11, 2005. As you know, your presentation was the culmination of a week-long program in which our students were outfitted with "disabilities" and expected to participate in regular school activities. The goal, of course, is to foster empathy for others with different abilities by "walking a mile" in their shoes. Your inspiring message (delivered with grace and wit!) was the perfect ending to our students' experience. They were encouraged to look beyond external appearance and recognize that everyone has something special to offer. Best of all, you gave them simple suggestions to use when approaching a person with disabilities. Thank you again for your time and effort on our behalf, as well as your willingness to be vulnerable so that others may benefit from your experience.
Best regards,
Elizabeth Terry, RN

Dear Mr. Foxx,
Thank you for the outstanding performance you gave at our school. Your themes: choices and consequences, the incredible power of setting goals, and winners don’t quit are a timeless reminder our fifth and sixth grade students found easy to understand and apply to their own lives.
Your storytelling abilities and humorous anecdotes kept their interest through the whole hour. The fact that you talk about you disabilities openly and honestly really speaks to today’s youth. When you described how, for years following your accident, routine tasks become major projects, our students realized that they too can overcome their own obstacles, if they just try hard enough. Many students (and teachers too!) walked away from your presentation feeling empowered to set goals and work hard to achieve them.
I am sure that all those attending your assembly left with a new awareness of the incredible power of choices. It is a tribute to you and your positive outlook on life that I heard the following comments from students after the assembly:
"WINNERS don’t quit! Winners DON’T quit! Winners don’t QUIT!"
"What I learned was never drink and drive and ride a motorcycle."
"I learned to make good choices and that ‘Winners don’t quit!"’
"I never saw things that way before. I hope he comes back."
"If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Think first and make good choices."
"Think twice before you do something that could ruin your life."
"Choices are important. You should never quit, because WINNERS don’t quit. Winners DON’T quit. Winners don’t QUIT."
"I think that Mr. Foxx was pretty funny and that Winners don’t quit."
"I learned it’s not nice to make fun of disabled people. Winners don’t quit."
"I am very glad you came to our school to help us make good choices. You are a talented comedian. I learned a lot from you. Thanks."
"Mr. Foxx, I’m really happy you came. You really helped me to understand more about handicapped people. Winners don’t quit."
"Mr. Foxx taught me that winners don’t quit and I never will because of him."
"I’m glad he taught us about good choices and bad choices and never giving up because winners don’t quit."
I thank you again for taking the time to talk to the students at John Muir Elementary School. I cannot think of a better way to teach my students the power of positive thinking! I salute you and your courageous crusade to inspire people to greatness.
Sincerely,

Robert Frost Elementary School 5th Grade
Mr. Foxx spoke to our class on Wednesday. He shared with our class details about his motorcycle accident. He also talked with us about the fact that accidents can happen to anyone, no matter who you are. The choices you make can have positive and negative effects on your life. Mr. Foxx shared how the choices he has made since his accident have made him set goals to achieve things so that he can be independent. The following are key messages that Mr. Foxx shared with our class.
Winners don’t quit is a very important saying that Mr. Foxx lives by in all that he does. ALWAYS wear a helmet when you are riding a bicycle. This is-important because the helmet can save your life if you were to fall. When you fall, get back up! Do not quit!
The following are comments from our fifth grade students:
"I thought it was great that Mr. Foxx made 50 many goals! I liked him saying ‘Never Give Up!"’
"You did a terrific job explaining to us why we should wear our helmets and you really made me think about why I should wear my helmet! "
"Mr. Foxx taught me that kids shouldn’t use drugs."
"I think that kids should take Mr. Foxx’s advice."
"I thought Mr. Foxx’s performance what great! He taught us that nobody is perfect. He also taught us that we need to be safe."
"I learned that accidents can happen to anyone!"
"I am glad that Mr. Foxx never gave up after his accident."
"I learned that it is better to be safe than sorry. Wear a helmet!"
Mr. Foxx has a very important message and Is willing to make it fit your students needs. We are glad that he was able to share with our class.

To whom it may concern,
My third grade classroom had the opportunity to listen to Al Foxx present this school year. His presentation had fabulous messages. Winners don’t quit, keep your expectations high, and make good choices were a few. His personal testimony tied it all together.
Students were very attentive while listening and very responsive to Al’s message. He kept his messages to the point and kept the interest level high throughout. Students were very pleased with his presentation. They even asked him for his autograph which he signed, WINNERS DON’T QUIT.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tracy Chester

To Whom It May Concern:
Al Foxx has been an educational assistant in my class for the last four weeks. He has assisted special education students in making good behavior choices in the classroom setting.
Additionally, Al has given motivational speeches to the elementary students in our pod of classrooms. His messages were well received by the students. The speech in my classroom was filled with humor and very important messages that have stuck with the children. He told the children through many of his personal examples that "Winner’s Don’t Quit," and to always "Wear a Helmet."
Additionally, Mr. Foxx communicated to the children how after he had his motorcycle accident he had to learn to talk, walk and learn to drive again even after being told he would never do those things. He stressed the importance of a positive attitude, working hard, and setting goals.
After he left the comments by the children were very insightful. One eight year old boy said he felt bad, because he had imitated the way Mr. Foxx talked and walked on the playground and now that he knew the reason why he would not do this ever again. "It’s important to be nice to people no matter what they are like." A girl indicated that "heads were difficult to fix when they got hurt" and so she would always wear a helmet.

To Whom it May Concern,
My All-Day Kindergarten class had the wonderful learning opportunity to hear Al Foxx’s presentation on Safety and Friendship. His ability to relate personal experience with the lesson was very effective. The children were very interested and responsive to his presentation. His use of humor and appropriate examples reinforced the students’ understanding that "Super Safe is Super Fun".
I would recommend having Mr. Foxx speak to any primary classroom that is learning how to play safe while having fun.

Whom it May Concern:
This reference letter is on the behalf of Al Foxx. I first met Al at the 2004 annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Conference when I co-hosted. The conference is for providers in the transportation industry including Outreach Personnel, Travel Trainers, Advocates and Consumers. Al was the speaker during our luncheon and presented information on living with a disability and the role that public transportation plays in his life. Al presented the information with humor and engaged the audience with his life experiences.
I hosted the 2005 ADA Conference in April 2005. Due to popular demand, I had Al return as the speaker during our luncheon. Al presented information that was lighthearted. Al's use of public transit puts him in a very unique position, by providing him with insight into the operation of our system.
Al is a very positive person and willing to work hard to achieve his goals. I have nothing but good things to say about Al and I'd strongly recommend him for any endeavor he chooses. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

I had the pleasure of hearing Al Foxx, founder of the Winners Don't Quit Association, provide an inspirational and motivational speech at a kick-off banquet for IKEA Renton River Days.
Mr. Foxx shared his often humorous and always touching account of relearning to walk, talk, and drive after a traumatic motorcycle accident caused a brain =injury and left him partially paralyzed.
Mr. Foxx had the unique ability of connecting with the audience, and they in turn responded to his message of creating a positive environment, believing that individuals have the power to overcome anything, and not to give up because of obstacles.
The standing ovation he received at the IKEA Renton River Days Banquet is a testament to his courage, sense of humor, and positive outlook. He is a true winner!
Whether speaking in schools or the workplace, I believe that Mr. Foxx's message will bring a fresh point of view to living and working along side people with disabilities.

Mr. Foxx
A Hearty "Thank You" for your very effective key note speech at our DARE culmination ceremonies.
Your vivid insight into the choices that people make was very dramatic. You have the ability to personalize that message much better than any officer, educator or parent ever could. Your physical presentation lends a very powerful image to your talk.
Your message of self-esteem is very encouraging and is right on target. You are able to effectively show that "how we view ourselves" is critical in creating and maintaining positive self-esteem.
A major point of our DARE program is to show kids that the decisions they make today can be very, very important later in life.
Your presentation really brings that point home.
Once again, Thanks.

I appreciate your participation at our DARE culmination ceremonies.
You gave a message to those kids that I am certain they will not easily forget.
Decision-making is so critical at their age and you were able to show that the decisions we make today can effect how tomorrow turns out.
I know that your presentation will affect the way they think about the everyday decisions that they need to make.
Thanks for your very inspiring talk.

Dear Al:
I just wanted to send you a brief note of thanks for being a recent quality role model addition to the Departments SCOPE program. I enjoyed the thoughtful, humorous, and provocative presentation you delivered recently to students at Lake Washington High School. Your presentation skills kept the kids, and me, actively engaged and focused on your primary message of "choices and consequences" and how simple choices can have life-long impacts.
Thanks again for sharing your message and agreeing to being a continuing partner in our SCOPE program. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

In the next letter, Supervisor of Scope Program, Officer Terry Whalen, writes of Al Foxx's lasting impact on students.

Dear Al:
I can not thank you enough for coming into my SCOPE (Schools and Cops Opting for Positive Education) class and sharing your story, your humor and your powerful message with my students.
I still have kids coming up to me and saying, "WINNERS DON’T QUIT". They also mention to me how much they enjoyed hearing your story and how it has inspired them to begin seeing their problems as challenges rather than calamities.
I spend the majority of my time with the kids trying to show them the power of their choices and decisions and everything I have said and done is wrapped up into your inspiring story. You tell the kids the story of the devastating choice you made and then show them the awesome power of all the good decisions you have made since. I know my students well and can tell you honestly that they heard your message and will carry it with them for a long time, some of them maybe even forever.
I wanted to write you this letter to thank you and to let you know that I am very glad that our paths crossed and that I plan on making you a permanent part of the SCOPE curriculum.
Thanks again and I will see you very soon I’m sure. Best of luck in all you do Al.

On behalf of IKEA Renton River Days, I would like to extend appreciation for the involvement of Al Foxx as our feature entertainment at our festival's 17th Annual Kick-Off Banquet, which was held at Maplewood Greens in Renton.
Al's performance was well received by the audience; he invited us into his realm of experiences, memories, and reflections while finding humor, warmth, antidotes and irony in his theme of Winners Don't Quit. Al also found numerous opportunities to connect with several tables of guests based on their reactions - this interaction generated another level of participation and enabled the synergy in the room to flourish. The audience's standing ovation represented appreciation, joy, and warm regards to thank Al for his candor, and to wish him well in his endeavors.

Dear Al,
Thank you so much for performing for our teens at the Kirkland Boys and Girls Club. Your performance was entertaining, humorous and very inspirational.
The middle school age group can be one of the most difficult to perform for, and you managed wonderfully, keeping them interested and inspired by your routine. Not only were the kids laughing at the comedy but I could definitely feel that they were touched by the message "WINNERS DON’T QUIT."
It is not often that our youth are directly exposed to the effects of choices. One of the most important things for them to understand and see is how our day to day choices can effect the out come of the rest of our lives. You provided them with those consequences loud and clear.
I wanted you to know that one of our teens left talking about your performance and clearly motivated to move forward in his life. In closing I would like to say that as you continue on your journey of performing and speaking to youth you will be affecting them in ways you may never see, but we as a society always benefit from your work.
Thanks again and I will contact you soon about further opportunities to talk with our teens!

To Whom It May Concern,
In March, we at the Kirkland Teen Union building had the privilege of hosting Al Foxx at our facility for a night of comedy and inspiration. Al spent an hour educating our population on the attitude that it takes to rise up and be a winner, and he did it with a funny and entertaining delivery. Al's story really moved some of our kids to start taking steps to change their lives. One of our troubled teenagers told me that if "Al Foxx can make something out of his life, so can I." My staff and I laughed out loud at some of Al's comedy, and appreciated the points he had to make. It was a great night at the Kirkland Teen Union building, thanks to Al and his message.
I enthusiastically recommend Al Foxx for your facility or program, and encourage you to bring Al in for youth and adults alike, People of all ages can benefit from Al Foxx's inspiring story.

What an inspiration Al was at our recent Kiwanis Meeting. And what a winner! He had us laughing out loud one minute and pensive the next with his incredible story. Many times, people are unsure of how to respond to a person with disabilities, but Al has a way of communicating with humor and inspiration that leaves each member of the audience in awe and comfortable with him. Add to that his incredible gift at humor and it brought a standing ovation! It was truly an honor to have him with us! Al is a great speaker for any age group!

Disabilities Awareness Month a very critical opportunity to educate people and make them realize what it means to be person with a disability. Your talk was informative, humorous, emotional, and most of all helped send the message that having a disability is just a minor obstacle toward leading a productive life.

Dear Al,
Thanks so much for your presentation to my class of preservice teachers at Central Washington University, SeaTac. Your message of hope and inspiration reaches all of the students in so many ways. They are able to take your practical suggestions from the simple "Winners Don't Quit" slogan to the ways to fill your self-esteem bucket and utilize them in their classroom situations immediately. Your ability to share your message with humor and candor makes it all the more rewarding.
The following comments are representative of the way you have impacted students over the years that you have come to my class:
Your story and 'winners don't quit attitude' brought me to be thankful for what I have...
I really like your emphasis that hope produces energy. When ever I feel down I just remember what you said.
I would like to personally thank you for sharing your inspiration.. ..I now possess the drive and attitude I need to be the person I want to be.
His acerbic wit was very entertaining.
He helped me understand that most disabled people are not asking for pity, or often, even help. They only want acceptance as much as 'normal' people.
I look forward to having you back again for our next quartets class. Thanks for the time and effort you take to do an incredible job each time you come.

University of Washington DO-IT Program
Dear Al Foxx,
Thank you for participating in the 1998 DO-IT Summer Study Program as our Mentor Night stand up comedy act and motivational speaker. We have asked the students in your audience to give you feedback on you presentation. Below are they’re actual remarks.
What did you learn from his presentation?
"That everybody can do stuff and not give up easily"
"No matter how bad things are don’t give up you can still succeed.
"I learned that he never gave up and his disability only gave him more courage and confidence within himself to do things he wanted to do."’
What did you like the best about it? Was there anything you didn’t like about it?
"I liked it -when he said winners don't quit."
"One should always try to accomplish everything that they can even when they are told that they can not do it."
"I liked it very much."
"The stories about the stores where people would yell while thinking he was deaf and he would respond back in kind."
"His motto."
Was there too much comedy, not enough comedy or just the right amount of comedy in his speech?
"I enjoyed ‘Al’s speech. I felt that it was appropriate for our age group. The most vivid point I got from the speech is that things happen in a split second, and once they do, you cant change them no matter how much you want to. Along those same lines, his 'winners don’t quit' message was a good one, especially for disabled people. It gives them inspiration, I believe. The speech was great, and I feel that there was just enough comedy to make it light-hearted, but to still keep a serious theme going."
"I really enjoyed his speech. I think it was a good idea to have him here to tell his story. The comedy made us laugh but at the same time he taught me a valuable lesson. It’s easier for me and others to learn important things while having fun. And yes I think it was appropriate for my age group."
"Just the right amount."
Do you feel that his speech was appropriate for your age-group?
"Definitely"
"Yes"
What suggestions would you have for him to improve his presentation?
"None that I can think of."
"To keep presenting it just the way it is so, others can relate and learn the moral of the story being told about his life."
Again, thank you for participating in the DO IT program this summer!

Al just did this presentation last week, so we have not received an official letter yet, but here are some comments by participants.
Terrific, funny, very deep message when you got through laughing. I thought about my attitude toward individuals with disability and prognostications all the way home.
Refreshing and renewing for those who work with individuals with disability or professionals in rehabilitation!
The winners don’t quit message was important, especially being sensitive to focusing on a person’s positives, the need for self acceptance, caution with predictive statements that either lower expectations or “put people in a box”….individual motivation needs more attention by diagnosticians…adaptive or resilient behaviors are not cut and dry.
College aged students particularly enjoyed the “humor is the best medicine” element of the talk…
Overall, people were pleased, amused and enjoyed attending this event…

Dear Mr. Foxx,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful presentation you made at the 2nd Annual Student Adventures In Learning (SAIL) Program Family Night. It is not often that an adult can capture the undivided attention of a large group of teenagers and you did that with optimism and humor. At the end of the night, I spent time talking with parents. The feedback I received was wonderful. One parent came up to me and said that your presentation "hit home" with her son. Just like you said in your presentation, "Winners Don't Quit," I feel we are all winners working with youth and we will never quit helping them. Mr. Foxx you are an inspiration to all of us and I’m sure we will all benefit from your presentation.

To whom it may concern:
During the Fall of 1999 I had the pleasure of meeting Al Foxx as he presented, "Winners Don’t Quit" to the students at Lake Washington High School. During the presentation Al mixed his personal story of tragedy, honesty, determination and humor in order to help students understand what can happen when a young person makes poor choices and then works to overcome difficulties. Al describes and tells his story of a decision gone badly and how he has been able to turn a tragedy into triumph by deciding to be a winner and never quitting.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to present many speakers to my students and I would consider Al to be one of the best in the business. I believe that Al’s message is appropriate for students of any culture and age. If you are looking for a speaker who can cause students to take a close look at their life and captivate them into making better decisions, then I would recommend Al’s presentation to your school.

As per your request listed below are some comments you may use as endorsements of your public speaking ability:
Al Foxx is living proof of how powerful the human mind can be when you focus it clearly on your goals.
Al Foxx captured the interest and attention of every student in the assembly and delivered a very important message-that Winners Don’t Quit no matter what obstacles are placed before them.
If you want to help motivate students to achieve their goals, from making it to class on time to performing on a WASL test, Al Foxx is an excellent choice as guest speaker.
Al Foxx takes his disabilities and turns them into an opportunity to use humor and hope to impact the way students think about their capabilities.
Hope these comments will help promote the good work you are performing with students. Thank you for again for the presentation at our motivational assembly this September.
Sincerely,
Wayne Hashiguchi

Dear Al:
Thank you very much for speaking to my two Single Survival classes yesterday. We talk in class about the power of choice and the long-term consequences of decisions we make. Your presentation brought them a very concrete example of consequences related to choice and a specific decision in your life. You also brought them a very strong message about the decision not to quit. You are a walking testimony to the power of human will, dedication and hard work. Think you can - and you will!
At the same time, you also gave them a reference of experience and knowledge of the world of a handicapped person. Knowledge and understanding breaks down barriers, we are afraid of what we do not understand. Your humorous approach to your challenges is very uplifting and helps many face that fear of people who are (perceived) so different from ourselves.
My students were very touched by your presentation and it provoked some very thoughtful reflection amongst many. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Sue Cocklin-Mills. Instructor

To Whom it May Concern:
Each year at Aylen Jr. High we provide a day of workshops and inspirational speakers for our students. This day falls on the last day before winter break. We provide large and small group presentations to our student body of nine hundred students. Al Foxx was our opening presenter for the seventh and eighth grade students. As the opening presenter for these students, A1 spoke in a large group capacity in our gymnasium. He spoke to 600 of our 900 students on the theme, "Winners Don’t Quit". This message, coming from Al, had a much stronger message than it would have had coming from a major league athlete. Al, himself, is quite handicapped. Although his handicaps are obvious to the eye many students and teachers responded immediately to the fact that he was talking about himself being a winner.
Students were enthusiastic about his storytelling style of presentation and responded positively to the fact he could share humor about the trials and tribulations of his own life. Our students turned in an evaluation survey at the end of the day which reinforced the positive impact Al had made on our students.

RE: Al Foxx, Presentation at Northshore Junior High, Bothell, WA 98011
On May 2, the staff and students at Northshore Junior High were treated to an hour of soul searching and laughter. Al Foxx, who had been injured in a motorcycle accident several years ago, ambled into our gymnasium and spoke to our students about attitude, goals, and a desire to succeed. Being told by doctors that he would never walk again because of the accident, Al persevered with hours and hours of therapy, a great amount of help, and an inner desire to prove the doctors wrong.
The students listened to Al’s story, laughed at his dry humor, and pondered his difficult transition from "free spirit" to partially paralyzed, yet gutsy opportunist. Al refused to quit, and his message of determination and self-respect was well received by those listening to him. The following morning I received a couple of calls from parents who stated that their students were "very impressed" by Al’s courage and motivated by his desire to see them succeed.
His "bucket full" of self-esteem reminders offered the students practical ways to improve their lives and the lives of those around them. Each positive "tip" showed students that they can make a positive difference in their lives and in the lives of their own family members and friends.
Thank you, Al, for sharing, inspiring, and planting the seeds of a "can do" attitude in our students. We were all very impressed!

Quotes from Students at Northshore Junior High
It was really funny and good. Al made me laugh, and he made me think. I learned how important a self esteem is. And I learned that if I treat myself and others with respect, they’ll treat me with respect.
Nate E.
Al’s was the funniest and the best assembly this year. Never giving up makes life a lot better. Like he said, "Winners Don’t Quit!"
Gary H.
Most assemblies are boring, but Al’s funny and inspirational assembly kept the kids glued to him. People who have dug themselves in a hole they think they can’t get out of would probably change their minds after listening to Al Foxx.

Leota Junior High
Dear Al:
Thank you for an excellent presentation at Leota Junior High School. Your accomplishments are very impressive. It was amazing to see you hold the attention of over seven hundred junior high school students. The students are still talking about your wonderful sense of humor and wisdom. You shared a powerful personal message that students could internalize. The "A, B, C’s" and tips for "Keeping Your Self-Esteem Bucket Full" were right on target for adolescents who struggle with self-esteem issues. You are a role model for both students and staff.
I also personally appreciated the extra time you took to help the student who was upset with some other students following the assembly. Even though her issue had nothing to do with you, you became an invaluable resource. You helped her put the problem in perspective. In fact, I think you made her day because you reminded her to believe in herself. It is not often that an assembly presenter will go out of his or her way to help an individual student.
It was a pleasure to have you at Leota. Your enthusiasm, energy, sincerity, and talent shined! I wish you continued success!

Re: Letter of Recommendation, Al Foxx, Winners Don’t Quit
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I recommend Al Foxx as a speaker for an organization or agency. Mr. Foxx recently spoke at our October 2005 Disability Employment Awareness Month diversity program at the Department of Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System, sponsored by the Equal Employment Opportunity Office, and hosted by our People with Disabilities Special Emphasis Program.
Employees and patients at our Seattle division had the opportunity to attend Al’s performance, and each group of attendees found useful and inspirational information in Al’s presentation. Since the program, I have received an overwhelming number of positive comments about Al, and specifically about his ability to address his situation with humor and grace.
Although many of the employees in attendance are health-care providers, and daily work with disabled veteran patients; they expressed a new appreciation of their patients’ experiences, frustrations and triumphs.
Many patients (and specifically those enrolled in our alcohol and drug dependency programs) informed me that they now realized that their own problems seemed minor, when compared to Al’s challenge and successful rehabilitation. These patients mentioned that they planned to chant Al’s mantra “Winners don’t quit, winners don’t quit, winners don’t quit,” if and when they encountered obstacles during their own treatment process.
Most importantly, Al’s message served to remind us of the purpose of our event: that we recognize the intellect, skills, abilities and contributions of people with disabilities; and our commitment to helping them achieve their full inclusion in our workforce.
Sincerely,

State of Washington - Dept. of Labor & Industries
Dear Al,
I want to thank you for your recent humorous and informational talk on Disability Awareness to the Department of Labor and Industries. Over 220 people attended and their reviews were excellent. The story of your perseverance in your recovery was wonderfully told and I believe demonstrates what an amazing person you are.
While you are very funny guy and your personal story was fascinating, your straightforward behavioral recommendations about how to relate with respect to individuals with disabilities were most important. Agency staff with disabilities and parents and relatives of folks who are disabled said they thought they knew it all but you taught them and made them laugh at the same time.
As a Special Events Chairperson, my plan for Disability Awareness month was to offer a unique event that could educate and entertain, a large number of our staff.
While my recommendation that a comedian could educate and change behavior was at first questioned as an effective agency wide training program, all those that attended felt that the disability awareness training and the humor break in the workday was a wonderful and educational experience. Increased awareness of diversity helps our staff in their work with customers, with their families, and with their community. It is an excellent service that you offer and one any organization wishing to educate themselves on disability awareness would greatly benefit from.
Thank you again,
Pat Delaney

As a winner who didn’t quit, he has first hand experience.
Al Foxx, founder of the winners Don’t Quit Association, came to our Corporate headquarters to speak to the employees during what we call the Brown Bag lunch hour from 12 to 1. During that hour, he touched the hearts of everyone there as he shared his story of relearning to walk, talk, work, and drive a car after he survived a brain injury and partial paralysis as the result of a traumatic motor cycle accident at age 19. His humorous accounts of how people have responded to him since his accident, will delight you but at the same time cause you to examine your own response to co-workers and others with disabilities. Al knows what people with disabilities want others to know about them.
His challenge as he spoke to us was 1) to not lose heart or give up because of obstacles, 2) to appreciate our own as well as others’ differences, 3) to believe in your heart that you have the power to overcome anything and 4) to do your best to create a happy and positive environment with everyone around you. From speaking in high schools to the workplace, Al will bring a refreshing perspective to living and working along side people with disabilities.

Dear Al:
It was a pleasure to meet you last week and to have you share your story with our group at the Embassy Suites. What an encouragement and inspiration you are to others!
The human spirit continues to amaze me. Your determination and "don’t quit" attitude all these years reinforces what one can do in spite of what life deals out to us. Your candor, wit and transparency endears you to your audience. The consensus was that with determination and perseverance we can accomplish that which seems impossible. Your presentation was empowering and was very timely for our group. Our dairy farmers today are experiencing grave economic conditions and many are having to walk away from their farms. The message you conveyed was a great source of encouragement to them.
I would be pleased to recommend you to any group. - Keep up the good work! Your message needs to be heard.

The following are comments made by those who attended a diversity awareness class presented by Al Foxx at John Deere.
"I absolutely enjoyed this guest speaker. He spoke of things that impact us all, whether you are a disabled individual or not. I would wager that there are still people that we work with day to day within our office that do not get it. That they think their problems are bigger than other and that everybody owes them something. After listening to Al, it makes our little problems seem truly petty."
"Al Fox was a very good speaker with a great message about not giving up and believing in people. I liked how he related disabilities to just differences in people which we deal with everyday in and outside of work."
"I enjoyed Mr. Fox. My only criticism was that it was a bit lengthy, otherwise it was great. He is a living testament to what I tell my kids, set your goals and don't let someone else stand in the way of them."
"Awesome presentation. Al is a remarkable guy!"
"Great job in speaker selection. The message was delivered effectively and humorously. Please continue to focus in on the real diversity issues. Less fluff and more events like this!"

Dear Al,
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you again for your presentation to our employees last week. Your message was positive and well received. Even now, some of our employees are repeating your motto of “WINNERS don’t quit, winners DON’T quit, winners don’t QUIT!” to get them through a rough day.
The management team was especially responsive to the message that employees have the power to make their job environment either positive or negative. Your message that we can and do have the power to make changes was a good reinforcement to those who sometimes feel as if they have no voice.
Your humor was a gentle reminder that, as you say, everyone has something that could hold them back - the trick is to keep going anyway. You are truly a motivating and inspiring person, Al, and to hear your presentation was both a privilege and a delight.

Al Foxx, you are amazing!
Your unique and comical presentation not only energized my sales crew with a powerful motivation that lifted their spirits and made the impossible seem possible, you made my guys and gals eager to tackle the tough sale. Your story made our sales crew feel like they were the ones who were told they would never walk or drive again. On behalf of all of us at the Brain Injury Association of Washington and the nearly 300 people who attended BIAWA’S Annual Conference on October 17,1998, I want to thank you for the excellent comedy routine that you performed at the conclusion of the conference. I hope that you had an opportunity to see the expressions on the faces that you were entertaining. You, through your comedy, touched upon the pain and difficulties that people face in a way that brought laughter and joy.

Dear Mr. Dover
I had the pleasure of hearing Al Foxx, founder of the Winners Don't Quit Association, provide an inspirational and motivational speech at a kick-off banquet for IKEA Renton River Days.
Mr. Foxx shared his often humorous and always touching account of relearning to walk, talk, and drive after a traumatic motorcycle accident caused a brain injury and left him partially paralyzed.
Mr. Foxx had the unique ability of connecting with the audience, and they in turn responded to his message of creating a positive environment, believing that individuals have the power to overcome anything, and not to give up because of obstacles.
The standing ovation he received at the 2002 IKEA Renton River Days Banquet is a testament to his courage, sense of humor, and positive outlook. He is a true winner!
Whether speaking in schools or the workplace, I believe that Mr. Foxx's message will bring a fresh point of view to living and working along side people with disabilities.

Dear Al,
Thank you so much for performing for our teens at the Kirkland Boys and Girls Club.

Dear Al,
The SAGE Valentine Banquet held on Sunday, February 11, in the Best Western Hotel in Fife Washington, was a joy to attend. The barbershop quartet and the inspiring, humorous 35 minute presentation you gave largely contributed to the success of this event.
The standing ovation you received was well deserved. Your parents, who were in attendance, must have been greatly moved by the response of this large audience to your presentation.
My wife and I and all the SAGE officers wish for you the best Al, as you so capably relate to life as it is for you today. You are an inspiration!
Most warmly yours,

Dear Al,
The Islander Cultural Alliance and Disabilities Center of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was thrilled to have you speak at our campus on October 27. Disabilities Awareness Month a very critical opportunity to educate people and make them realize what it means to be person with a disability.
Your talk was informative, humorous, emotional, and most of all helped send the message that having a disability is just a minor obstacle toward leading a productive life
All of the attendees gained a better understanding of how to approach and treat people with disabilities; as well an outline for goal setting that can be applied to any one, whether or not they have a disability.
Your informational sheets about disabilities will be available and on display in our office. Thank you for gracing us with your appearance and we hope to work with you again in the future.
Sincerely,

Central Washington University
Dear Al,
Thanks so much for your presentation to my class of preservice teachers at Central Washington University, SeaTac.
Sincerely,

Counselor/Coordinator, DO-IT

Dear Mr. Foxx
Thank you for your presentation on the topic of Winners Don’t Quit. Your message was well received by our student body. As per your request listed below are some comments you may use as endorsements of your public speaking ability.

Sincerely,

Northshore Junior High

Sincerely,
